There's is not a lot out there with respect to these instruments and the builder, Gary Cooper. If one searches a bit,however, there are some interesting stories about Oasis (who knows to what extent they are true). For example, one writer who purported to work for Cooper reported that after finally getting someone to distribute their instruments, the distributor placed an order for twelve guitars in Koa. When Cooper couldn't get his hands on that wood he ignored the advice of his colleagues and partners and did them in Birdseye maple instead only to have most sent back and the distributor drop Oasis.
I'm with Michael and have been looking for something different for awhile be that a Oasis, Hyak or an older Guild to Alembicize. However I've still got two Alembics I want to get upgraded/refurbished so unless something comes along that a really good deal I'm happy to wait for now.
