I believe Rob uses a plastic binding with a Poly finish. If that is indeed the case, you will want to use thin cyanoacrylate glue very carefully. If you do get a drip, it can be carefully leveled with sand paper and buffed out. I would also glue about 3" at a time, allowing the glue to wick down into the crack, while making sure the binding is fully seated to the routed channel. It also helps to have zip kicker at hand to speed up the drying process. This is an extremely tricky repair, and should be done by a well regarded luthier.
