Dave Hope - Kansas - Alembic?
« on: August 31, 2020, 05:40:52 PM »
Is that an Alembic Pre-amp and Macintosh Amp (upon closer inspection I can see it's a Crown) in this picture behind Dave Hope?
I've always loved his tone, but I understood that he primarily achieved it with fresh strings, a firm pick, and a LOUD SVT.
Who knows something? Was there some Santa Rosa Pixie Dust in the mix as well?

Good eye,
That's a Crown power amp...but it's cool to know there's some F2-B magic on my favorite
tunes.
I won a chance to meet them in '80 from my local radio station.
We previewed AudioVisions in the studio in Atlanta with them.

I never got past 'The point of no return"  ;D .
