Well, you NEED all that with a 12-string.  (Don't you?) [smily-face emoticon here!]
I used to think I was indecisive, but now I'm not so sure.

Wow, volume and tone for each string, plus pickup selector setting for each pickup and stereo channel.  Wonder how well it all works?

I’m gonna guess that if you believe that you need all of those knobs and switches then each one must bring with it a unique one-of-a-kind tonal adjustment that just cannot be found on any other instrument.

It’s not quite volume and tone for each string.  Each pickup is divided into two circuits, the three bass strings and the three treble strings.  This creates six separate circuits among the three pickups.  Each circuit gets its own volume and tone controls.   Those knobs sure do look close to each other!

Yeah, I concur, Bill - that circuitry would have benefited from a tad more real estate.  Don't know that I'd want to gig that thing, but it sure would be fun to play with at home - stoned!

I wouldn't even be able to play that thing for more than a minute "why is it getting quiet? oh, I'm hitting the volumes..."

No master volume either as far as i can see so a volume pedal would make it easier to use live.
