The bass player’s function, along with the drums, is to be the engine that drives the car… everything else is merely colours.

A beautiful bass, but one item concerns me:  The pictures show the bass in its original custom padded hard shell case but in the description the owner states:  "I will provide a padded gig bag for shipping."
Why keep the case?  A stunning custom made Alembic with delicate end points in a gig bag? The possibility of another shipping nightmare story... Let's hope not.  All the best to the current and future owner of this beautiful instrument.

This one appears to be the original Balance shape. The Balance-K has a more slender waistline.

Yes, very odd. I was about to buy this bass. Worked out a deal with the seller. Everything looked good and then he told me that he would be including a gig bag, not the hard case.
I told him that I needed the hard case and he refused. When I told him that was a deal breaker he said he didn't care. No deal.
I just can't figure out why he would want to keep the case. He didn't explain.
