1992 Modulus Q6 TBX FS
« on: May 29, 2019, 09:25:53 PM »
I got this bass earlier this year and while I love the sound (its finger style tone is just about perfect and the B string is amazing), a 35" scale of regular fingerboard width with my stubby fingers is just not working out (The Starfire has me spoiled, as does my '83 Modulus with the crazy narrow spacing). I know I'm going to regret selling it, but unless I start practicing 2 or 3 hours a day again, it's too much. It needs to be played.

These are pictures from the seller I got it from. Since then, I've gotten a setup done on it and put on new strings (DR Sunbeams 120-30, my go to strings), so the action is much better than it was when I got it.

It's got Bartolini quad coil pickups and a number of coil options. Two band Bartolini preamp (if I were to keep, I'd probably put in a 3 band). Lots of different sounds available.

In great shape with just a couple of dings, shown in the pictures.

It looks even better in real life. As they all do.

Original hardshell case.

$4,000 plus actual shipping charges.

Oh man...  :::drool:::

I've wanted a yellow-stained flame maple TBX with Barts ever since I first saw those Modulus print ads in the early 90s!
If I hadn't picked up a '96 TBX-6 (black, with EMGs) a year or two ago I'd be all over this one!

But I know what you mean about that neck. I've been playing a Modulus Quantum-6 SPX since 1988, which has a *much* narrower neck (and much narrower string spacing) so the TBX has taken me a long time to get used to. Still not completely there.

Thanks for your interest,

This piece has the same string spacing as the Modulus with a 34" scale which may be more comfortable for you. In my case I have been playing a Dingwall ABI-6 which had gotten me used to playing with a longer scale & now I prefer it SO if you want to do a trade for your piece, I would be open to it!!
Cheers

I'm not looking for a trade unless it is a medium scale 5 or 6 string Alembic and even then....
