But on the bright side, this lineup could be very good too... I bet they pull out some earlier Fleetwood Mac tunes... I'm a little bit surprised Mick didn't bring in Rick Vito.

I'll be a Fleetwood Mac fan until I drop, regardless of who happens to be on guitar, but still... what a shame that tell-tale Chain couldn't keep them together for one last go around.  :(

I've probably mentioned before, my favorite Fleetwood Mac guitarist was Danny Kirwan; and my favorite Mac albums, Bare Trees and Future Games.  Wasn't a fan of Buckingham and that era of the band.

I hear ya' Dave.  ;)

Based on this quote from the article: “With Mike and Neil, we’ll be performing all the hits that the fans love, plus we’ll be surprising our audiences with some tracks from our historic catalog of songs. Fleetwood Mac has always been a creative evolution. We look forward to honoring that spirit on this upcoming tour.”

...I kinda' wonder if they might pull a couple from the "Future Games" and "Bare Trees" era. I think it could work very well with this group if they present it correctly. If they rely too heavily on "Rumours" era stuff to carry the show, I'm afraid it'll be recieved in about the same lack-luster way that the 1987 "Tango in the Night" tour was.  (which really wasn't completely fair to Vito and Burnette, just IMO, of course.)

I think Mick's hat-tip to the Peter Green days is with his Blues Band, so I'd be surprised if they got anything beyond "Black Magic Woman" or "Oh, Well" from there. But I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Christine busted out "Sentimental Lady".  :D

I'm anxious to see this setlist.  8)

*and while I'm wishing... I'd love to see John haul out old #27 and the continuously-fretted Custom one more time.

Would be nice to see some good quality video of some songs from those albums played well.

Neil Finn!

That’s what my wife said! She loves Neil.
I have a special liking to Bare Trees, and Rumors is classic.  Mick, John and Christine are a solid enough core to keep the chain together.  ;-)

I'm a little more at peace with it today. While the fan in me feels a little cheated out of the happy ending I was hoping for, the musician understands both sides; having had to deal with people on the road, with a very complicated history and circumstances... chemistry only gets you so far. And when people leave the band, you replace them and get back down to business. Fleetwood Mac has now had 9 different guitar players by my count.

They'll be fine as long as that magnificent rhythm section (the only real constant if you think about it) is back there.

Local "Oldies" DJ told us this AM that Lindsey was leaving, and "being replaced by Neil Finn, who spent 50 years as Tom Petty's lead guitarist".

That's all of them I think, Dave.  :)

Quite a list, but when you consider it spans 50 years... not too bad. I believe all except Bob Welch and Bob Weston are still here. According to John, Mick Fleetwood reportedly stays in touch with Peter Green... not sure about the other alumni.

I'd say from the outside looking in that LB lost in a p*****g contest with Mr. Fleetwood.  With the collapse of record sale revenues, you tour.  I'm a huge Mike Campbell fan, so this is all good for me, and I'd expect a more robust presentation because of him.  Not to mention I'm sure he's more of a student of the pre-Stevie/Lindsey Mac than spending a whole lotta time writing out charts for TUSK.

A blast from my back pages, we used to play this in the bands back in the day, and if they want to revive it with MC, fine with me.  More Manchester, less Malibu.

Oh, that's a good one Joey... a good example of what I hope they do with this new configuration. :)

I agree; this smacks of a(nother) L-Buck tantrum. Only guessing of course, but I bet he gave Mick some kind of ultimatum on Stevie, and got his bluff called. I kinda' figured something was up last year when suddenly the new Fleetwood-Mac album turned into the Buckingham/McVie project, followed by a supporting tour. Me and everybody else wondered; where the ham-sammich was Stevie? I can't help but wonder if this wasn't a little payback.

I really want to see them go out on a good note... maybe they will. The components are certainly there. ;)

As much as I like and appreciate Stevie Nicks, the Mac MUST have Christine, she's the real soul of it.  She'll take to Mike like free beer, and since Mike and Stevie are very close because of their relationship with the late Tom Perry (and her history with LB . . . . . ), I will be very intrigued as to where this version will address their catalog.
