1975 Guitar Player Alembic ad

I recently picked up the Sept 1975 Guitar Player issue (the Jimi Hendrix issue) and found this ad for Alembic gear.
I hope it's OK to share it!

$1650 in 1975 is equal to $7675 in 2017.  So based on the current price list, that would probably be a six string Skylark guitar.

Bill, I thought you already had two of those $1,650 guitars?

I've been to Reliable a number of times over the years.  They closed in 2001 after the big box chain stores moved in to Charlotte.  Here's an article written when they closed, if anyone's interested.  One of the last times I was there, I saw Steve Bailey and Victor Wooten give a clinic.

Adriaan, I have three that might have been in that price range originally: 72-10 guitar, '76 MSG, and '77 LSG 12 String, but I paid a lot more than $1650 when I obtained them!

Comparing '75 prices to current, the Blaster is a steal!

'The Wood', but why just on the back?

On my custom, Susan and Mica reached back in time and came up with this:

Adriaan,
That really makes me smile on many levels...a really nice touch.

Beautiful, Adriaan, good vibes in that piece!

Bill, your ‘77 twelve string is very similar to my ‘78 six string (Peruvian walnut?)...nice! :)
