Good news indeed!

We had a fire in the Oakland Hills Monday night which burned two homes under construction. Fire crews did an amazing job of getting it put out within 7-8 hours. Despite the quick response the section of Snake Rd that the burned houses are on is closed indefinitely. Must say I have been impressed with the OFD... response time and success rate since the big 1991 fire has been really good.

Still need to check in with a friend whose elderly mother has a ranch in Ojai. She evacuated days ago but not before there was damage to the ranch. We really need rain here in CA, fire season should have already ended. Hope everyone continues to be safe!

Thanks!  It did get a little sketchy thursday night, but when I was driving away, there was peace of mind in the knowledge that worst case scenario, all I was losing was 'stuff'.  No pets to worry about and I knew my kids were safe.  Everything else could have burned and everything still would have been ok.
