Happy Ending for Stolen Bass (not Alembic)
« on: September 26, 2017, 07:50:03 AM »
My wife and I were horrifed to hear of a young newlywed couple who had their uhaul van stolen here at a suburb near Vancouver. Early this month they moved from east coast New Brunswick to west coast Abbotsford. Included in the uhaul was a very nice 5 string bass, which they showed a closeup pic of, family heirlooms and all their possessions.

Happy days as police have recovered the goods and caught the crooks  :)

That's great news.  :)

The bass in the picture looks like an Ibanez, but that doesn't make it any less great.  :D

I always think about how cool it would be to find Jimmy J's stolen 5-string one day.

Here's the original picture of the bass.

When we saw it we went 'hey that's an Alembic' but you may be correct, it could be an Ibanez!

Always good news when stolen property gets returned to its rightful owners. Definitely not an Alembic bass, looks like an Ibanez to me, too.

Justice sometimes prevails!  Too bad they don't have a picture of the crooks hanging by their toe nails.  :o

Thanks Gregory for catching that right away!  The group picture shows the Ibanez SR style head for sure. I should of caught that since I own two Ibanez! Thread edited.

Have a great day.  :)

Back in 1979 I had a 3 month old Gibson red ES355 taken from me. I left it at a local music store for a neck adjustment and while it was there, someone got my address off the repair tag. I think it was done with the help of someone who worked there or the store owner. The store is long gone.

I still miss it. I wish Gibson had a database like Alembic does for stolen guitars.

Moral; never give out your address on instruments going out for work to be done
