Hello Sean,

here we go:

That's the lot.

Sean.  THAT is nice.  I love that finish!  I think I have a pic of that guitar around somewhere too.  I will look for it tonight.  I really love the softer cut of that body style.

I thought that was the guitar..oddly enough I've actually played it; I saw it just a few days ago; it's in pretty good shape.
Good luck on getting it.

Can you give me a description of the neck feel? I have a friend going over to check it out for me this afternoon.

Michael...where did you get the photo of this guitar? Do you know any history on it?

Thanks!
Sean

Wow Smichaels ~

That surely is some real sweet Zebrawood - I've only ever seen that nice of a pattern on in Zebrawood on the Aria special limited edition SBR's basses of which only 2 were made and Marcus Miller has one of them.....

Too bad for me that I passed up buying the other one (from Banana's at large in San Rafael California) and went with the (then) new Steinberger all grahite bass for the same price of $1,500.00.

I sure do envy that pattern and stain.  Good luck!

There's a lot of nice examples of Zebrawood showing up here lately.  Good luck with the wheeling and dealing Sean. That is a beauty!
I'd love to see the back on it.

The odor isn't that bad Paul, mine's only 10 years old and hardly smells at all anymore.

Bananas at Large! That's where I was before I ended up at Alembic..though we never had any Alembics in 3 years I was there.

Once finished Zebrawood does not stink anymore...though calling it wet-dog odor is quite charitable in my opinion..it's worse than that.

Sean, the neck, as I recall (I played it almost a year ago, so my recollection is not too sharp) was pretty typical Alembic, slim and fast.
When I saw it and asked to play it, I said to the salesman, oh it's a 1974, one of the early ones. and he goes well here in our records it says it's a 1975. How can you tell it's a 1974? So I told him I worked for the company and explained how to get the year of manufacture from the serial number.

Sean - I found the picture I was thinking of, but it is not the same instrument.  Sorry.  I got this picture in an email from someone who was trying to sell it.

For anyone interested...I have decided NOT to get this guitar. It looks to be in great shape etc. It is missing the DS-5 and probably could use an electronics upgrade (my other Series I needed it in my area). Those two factors and considering the price of the guitar itself have put me out of the running for this guitar. Check out eguitars.com and give the guys a call if you are interested - they are very helpful. Good luck!
