I bought a used bass recently and got around to cleaning it today. I wiped the fingerboard down once with a moist cloth and the photo below shows what I got. Looks like it has not been cleaned in a long time! I oiled the fingerboard and it took three full soakings. Cleaned, polished, new strings and set up, good as new!

Thanks, Greg, it really has a brighter sound, must be all the maple. I like it, it's a lot like the maple Orion I used to have...
...and your new custom build will be pretty sweet!!
