Nice guitar!  I get the built for/by an employee not for retail as an explanation for the lack of logo but it seems odd that under those circumstances there is a serial number.

Where do you see a serial number?  Am I missing something?  A '76 would have the serial number stamped on top on the headstock - I don't see any pic that shows the top.

A set of numbers is stamped below the 24th fret - but it's clearly a fantasy number.

If you blowup the second pick you can see 7608002 stamped in the end of the fingerboard. My guess is the builder stamped the completion date into it.

Serial number is visible on the end of the fingerboard... think it is the second photo if you scroll. Guess it does look like a fantasy serial number...

Love the top/back/fret-board woods.  The neck recipe is intriguing.  Subtle differences:

Look at the area around the hum-cancelling pick-up.  Does is look clean to you?

Look at the placement of the master volume in relation to the other controls.  Does it seem off compared to most Alembics?

I also don't recall seeing the 5-pin oriented like this before. Either way, it's an optimistic price for a shop-night guitar.

The posting say it was done that way to make it easier to thread the cable through the strap.
