Posting Pictures

Hi All:
 
Has anyone else had problems posting pictures on this website, or is it just me???
 
I have cropped and resized pictures using Photoshop to get them down to roughly 60 kb or so.  
 
I have tried to upload them from my Mac G5 using Microsoft Internet Explorer:MAC, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, and Mozilla Camino.  Not one of them has worked to upload pictures.  Once I have chosen the picture and clicked Upload, the whole process comes to a stop.  I have let it set for 45 minutes and still nothing.  I click on upload, there is disk activity, there is network activity, and then . . . hang!!!!
 
The instructions for uploading pictures on this website are simple, clear and concise,  but I still can't seem to upload anything from a Mac for some reason.
 
Any ideas???

I don't know if this applies to a Mac, but my first thought for a PC would be to reboot the computer and/or clear the cache.

Like Dave I use a PC and the only time I've had trouble is when the pic is to large.  At home I use PhotoSuite and at work MS Photo Editor for resizing.

I use a Macintosh and have successfully uploaded photos using Firefox and Safari. I do have a broadband connection - I've never tried to upload using dial-up (not that it should make any difference).
 
Michael, if your problems persist, I'd be happy to post any pictures for you - feel free to email them to me, if you like.

Tried posting pictures using windows and Internet Explorer over my 2 mb broadband.  The result was that after clicking upload, the picture seemed to start and got through about 1/2 way.  Then the window came up with page could not be displayed.

I just tried a test upload and posting, and it worked fine; so I don't think the problem is with the server.  Assuming you tried clearing the cache and rebooting, my next suggestion, again probably not it, would be to look at the file name to see if there is anything unusual such as a slash or other non-allowed character.  Also, if you get the page could not be displayed message, try clicking on Refresh.

Its been a while since I posted a pic ( 12/22/04 ) but I was using a Mac, phone connection, 33.6 modem and either Netscape or Internet Explorer.......got it on the first try with no problems

Tried again on the PC.  This is the error I get.

Obviously the problem is your computer ate some hashish cookies.  Let it sleep it off and it should be as good as new in two days.

Bill, tgo, I guess you would be the first one to recognize the true meaning of that error message.  LOL
Since you're in the med marijuana arena I could e-mail you some info you might find interesting, if that's okay.  There is a local guy (registered med user) that the local authorities have been messing with.

So you've had the same problem on two different computers?  That's really strange since no one else seems to be having this problem.
 
Here's what I've found so far, which isn't much help:

This error message is received when the browser does not pass along a hidden field from the message page to the posting script. The error occurs because the posting script does not then know where to put the message.  
 
If this problem occurs regularly and reproducibly, then you have a corrupted board skin as noted in the error message.  
 
However, there have been some cases where the problem occurs seemingly randomly. This can be attributed only to the browser itself not sending the correct parameters to the script, since the same page works for everyone else.

Forgetting for the moment that it seems to be occuring on two computers, having read the above my next suggestion would be, in Internet Explorer, to again clear the cache and then go to Tools ` Internet Options ` Advanced and click on Restore Defaults, then reboot.  It's not something I like to do since I have to then go back and reset everything the way I want it; but it has solved browser problems for me in the past.
 
I'll keep looking as time permits; let me know if you make any progress.

Another suggestion I found is to wait until the entire form loads before clicking the button to post the message.  This doesn't sound like it applies to your situation either.  However, you might try the process again and observe that each screen is loading completely.  Perhaps the thread to which you were trying to post isn't loading completely.  In fact, you might want to try uploading a picture to a different thread just to see if the same thing happens.

I've posted mikes photos in the miscellaneous section with no problems. Must be his computer ;-)
