  • One day I'll be half as good as my basses
Sending up Praises......Alembic Style
« on: September 20, 2006, 07:56:48 PM »
My church has been having a revival this week.  In addition to playing bass for and leading our Early Service Praise Team, I have a free-lance gig with a local gospel group.  I had both my groups performing the music at Tuesday evening's service.

As it turns out, I'm also the one that knows the most about our PA system (scary thought) so I helped the guest choir that played Monday night set up.  The bassist was playing a super sweet Epic 5 string.

So Monday and Tuesday were both Alembic Night in the Sanctuary.  Tonight would have made it a clean sweep, but our senior choir is more accustomed to singing with just the organ or piano, so I stayed home with the kids (one of whom is now taking lessons from Dad)

Peace,

James

All right James... there's nothing better than passing it on to the next generation!  :-)

Great to hear, James. I know of at least three Alembic owners that play in worship bands in the Dallas area, myself included. Can't really think of a better place to play one.

Very cool James.
My youngest daughter plays but she opted for the guitar instead of bass. She and I both play at our church.

Bass playing or pot smoking?

But don't fret Kev, there IS a church for you:

(By the way, I'd take the claims of legality with a large grain of salt).

Finally, in the words of my people, Happy New Year!
