Well, there is of course the Line 6 Variax Bass, which even does an Alembic impersonation.

I still play some of my old vinyl but to be honest I never was real happy with the standard fair that was released. The physical quality of the records were all over the place. Especially when compared to the higher quality direct to disk and virgin vinyl half speed master records.  
 
Now where is Paul TBO? We need to bang some glasses on the table and order another round.
