« on: May 07, 2010, 09:00:39 AM »
Hey,

I would like to verify just what the controls are on my Rickenbacker Activator System.

Thank you

They look like Alembic Activator parts to me.

Hi Keith,

If that's supposed to be a joke, I don't get it!

If you don't know, that's ok.

I need to know what function each Alembic Activator part serves, not who manufactured them.

Thanks!

Looks like two Filters, Volume and Pan (or maybe two Volume controls?)

My guess would be Volume, Pan, and filter for each pickup too.

Thank you very much you guys!
That's just what I thought too, I just wanted to be sure.
One of the two smaller modules does have a Center Notch Position, so I expected that was a Pan-Pot!

The Volume is definitely a volume.
I really just wanted to be sure that I did actually have two Filter Circuits.

Thanks again.

I'm sure you'll like the electronics, Garret.  Very similar to the Signature electronics that I have in my Dragon's Wing and Stanley Clarke Sig Standard - perhaps (other than Series II electronics) my favorite electronics set up on Alembics.

Enjoy!

you might want to email Mica to be sure, but I'm pretty sure that's what I remember the controls as being. definitely an advantage of the Ric set vs. the Jazz set, which I think is only vol-pan-filter - having separate filter controls is great! with my Stanley Clarke I've been setting the filter low on the neck pickup and pretty open on the bridge pickup and blending to taste...

Garret,
It was not meant to be a joke (if I had you would have seen a smiley). I thought you had questions about authenticity and what the type of electronics. Not an uncommon request on the Club.

Hey all,

I emailed Mica and she confirmed what ajdover said  about them being similar to Signature electronics. Mica said the difference is the lack of Q Switches.
She also said it appeared that at least part of the system was from 1987.
What I know is that my '72 Rick sounds awesome!

BTW: Keith, it's all good!
