Phil Lesh: Alembic to Modulus
« on: December 13, 2008, 05:00:39 PM »
Just out of curiosity and ignorance, can anyone tell me why Phil Lesh went from being a Alembic fan to moving to a Modulus Q6 in recent years? Was it tone, was it a graphite neck, what was it?

John:

This has been discussed several times on this site.  If you do a search you should turn up some past threads.  By the way, rather than using the search feature on this site, I use google advanced search and just type in alembic.com for the domain to be searched.  It's MUCH faster.

Not to mention that he's moved on to a Ritter. I recorded an album this week on which Barry Sless played and he recounted being on stage with Phil recently and hearing huge cheers. He wondered what great lick had been played and looked up and realized it was for the LEDs being turned on!
