Actually, the PRS amp is an old one.  PRS briefly entered the amp market, then dropped out.  Eric Pritchard, who did the amp designs, now has his own company, Pritchard Amp.

Bill; in your post here you stated that the Pritchard amps are solid state.  Do you think the PRS amp that Derek is playing through in the promo that Craig linked is the same design?

What I just read on the Pritchard site history page suggests that the PRS amp was indeed solid state.

Actually, PRS is back in the amp business.  They are featured on their website and there are three tube models.  It doesn't have much tech info about them, but the preamps are super-simple as far as controls go.

Some time back Premier Guitar reviewed the Pritchard Sword of Satori.  They gave it 4 out of 5 stars, but their reason seemed kind of weak to me (i.e., it wasn't a high gain amp.  Anyway, you could read the review here: http://www.premierguitar.com/Magazine/Issue/2008/Jun/Pritchard_Sword_of_Satori.aspx.

I had a friend that bought one of the original PRS amps. They only made a few hundred. Frankly, you could just change the name from PRS to POS on those first amps. The factory did not even want to deal with them.
