Alembic sighting!!

Elizabeth Reid; part 1, part 2, part 3 with an appearance by some guy playing an Alembic.  Warren and Derek are superb in part 1, and the drum break in part 2 with Lenny White sitting in is nice!

Mountain Jam > Dazed and Confused and part 2.  Once again, Warren and Derek are just a pleasure to listen to!

Thanks for the links to the ABB sets, guys!

I have to make a comment about Johnny Winter's contributions. It's no wonder that some in the band were having trouble finding the changes - they were not consistant each time around. Highway 61 Revisited is not a 12-bar blues, yet SOMETIMES in this version it was played that way. It's fine to play a varying number of bars if one is playing solo, or if one is playing with a band who rehearses together so much that the changes become intuitive, but in a sitting-in situation it's hell on the band to follow along. IMHO....

from rolling stone
Boz Scaggs has been confirmed to appear tonight, and Rolling Stone?s Smoking Section broke the news that Duane?s old Derek and the Dominoes bandmate Eric Clapton will be appearing on March 19th and 20th. The newest list of rumored cameos counts Sheryl Crow, Billy Gibbons, Kid Rock, Bob Weir and Phil Lesh among the possibilities. Many of the guests were chosen to help honor fallen guitarist Duane Allman, whose sudden death in 1971 left a gaping hole that was briefly filled by Warren Haynes and later by slide-guitar prodigy Derek Trucks in 2000.

Dickey Betts carried that band for years. Without Dickey Betts the band would not be what they are today. Imho...
