Ok after my last post I received a few emails about asking how to improve Chops and to go into more detail about what I was trying to get across, so I decide to do one better, I have some great drum grooves for any Bass player to groove along with..Welcome to Chops 101
Anyone interested in getting some mp3's of grooves to take you out of the box and mess with your basic 4/4 time signature and learn how to get off the beat track and right back on again email me and say in subject send CHOPS

These are actual grooves that I practice myself, and for all you master Choppers out there, glad to send then to you also to have fun with, afterall we all wanted to play the best Instrument around, so why not try to be the best that you are capable of being.
I mean I don't care how good you are, we always strive for more and if you have a particular flavor you like I will send that Chop to you also, My main objective here is to help anyone who wants to help themselves become a better Bassist..So anyone interested..Chop Chop let's throw it down.

Chop shop people try to watch yourselves close when you are playing along with the drum grooves and try not to lose it in the quite passages, use your dynamics to bring it down and watch the Latin grooves for your timing is the best advice I can give you, but we will get into more instrumentation down the road so stay tuned

The Chops comments I am getting in emails are showing how some people are realizing how something so simple can throw you off so easily, because when you get comfortable with a groove and all of a sudden, a curve ball comes at you, you got to move or duck, or just hit it. Like I said most people play fast when things are loud and slow when things are soft but when you go from loud to soft, thats when you will find that you lost your meter and your groove most of the time.
As you get better make you groove line more complex to the drum groove, it never end's until you quit or give up but you will get better Peace to all John
