That's why we love show business.

Jazzyvee:

The Lone Ranger started as a radio show in the 20s or 30s, I believe, and a TV series in the 50s with re-runs well into the 60s.  The Lone Ranger was a Texas ranger (think cowboy cop) who rode around on a horse called Silver with a Native American sidekick named Tonto, righting wrongs, catching bad guys, and doing good deeds for needy people across the American West.  He dressed in fancy cowboy clothes and always wore a mask.  When he was finished, he would just ride away and leave a silver bullet behind.  Sort of an early super hero without super powers.  Clayton Moore played him on the TV show.

Yeah thanks but I know who the lone ranger is, we had him here on tv when I was growing up. I just couldn't see why the clip was funny. I still don't?

Maybe if the Lone Ranger was dressed in drag it would be funny on your side of the pond?  (Either that, or I've watched too much Benny Hill!)  lol
