I know this is an Alembic site and I have several but I was wondering if anybody has an opinion on Roscoe basses. I was looking at a Century Signature 5 string

Bolt-on neck.
If you don't mind that feature alone, a beautiful looking and sounding bass.

I have a Misic Man Stingray 5 that doesn't get played much. Also an SWR Super Redhead combo. I was considering selling a couple less used items and consolidating them into a 5 string with a 35 scale that I would be more inclined to play. I knows its not an Alembic which would be my obvious first choice but I think its definitely a step up from the Stingray.
Just by chance does anyone have a 35 scale 5 string Alembic they might want to part with?

Roscoe makes beautiful basses in Greensboro, NC. IMO they compare to Fodera, Conklin, F-Bass

I had an early Roscoe LG-3005 10 years ago at the same time I owned two Alembic Spoilers.
Picked it up cheap because few people knew who Keith Roscoe was at that time. This was shortly after Bass Player panned Roscoe in their 5-string shootout issue.
Mine had a quilt top over mahogany body, a thick maple and purpleheart neck, and Bartolini soapbars and two-band EQ. Very nice bass, solid, and attractive to boot. I had no problems with the build quality, but the 19mm string spacing and bottom-heavy tone didn't work for the music I was playing at that time. I would probably like it more now. As I remember it, the build quality was on a par with Alembic but the sound was not as much to my liking.
If you like the sound and the bass is comfortable to play, you should get one. The one time I spoke with him, Keith Roscoe struck me as a serious and reliable builder.
