This is to our moder Dave and all the other great guys here (as well as our hosts) to having a positive helpful forum. I know that there have been a few hiccups over the years but overall people who come here are welcomed and helped a great deal. I recently joined 2 other forums. One to sell a bass, the other because I bought a bass. On one the admin decided to get into a debate about prices and import taxes etc. and said that import taxes aren't paid by the customer. The US gov't made sure I paid my tax I assured him. His passive aggressive tone caught me as a reflection of the kind of user and person he chooses to be.

So a compliment to Dave and our group here for helping keep this place a cherished location to visit every day. When confronted with another environment that leaves one less than positive, the contrast show us the appreciation of our happy family.

We don't acknowledge this enough here. In spite of the rare hiccup, this is a place where you can count on a positive experience way more often than not. Kudos to Danno for reminding us all of how good we have it!

Had the pleasure of meeting Dave at a N.C. gathering a few years ago. Very nice man....except for the no eating burnt animal flesh thing.

Thanks guys!  But it is of course the members that make this place what it is.  I've learned a lot from spending time here with all of you, not only about music, guitars, basses, and rigs, but about community, sharing, listening, life.  What I've learned here from you, I carry with me out into the world.  And for that I am grateful.

I would like to add that Art and Adriaan have been doing a great job; and that most of the credit for keeping things in good shape here this past year goes to them.  They've been doing most of the behind the scenes work; and a lot of what they do goes unseen.

I'll add my thanks to all the Mods too. This is one of those peaceful, friendly sites I like to visit when life starts to get too hectic. This quote from Eric's FtC thread sums up the whole Alembic ethos for me...Mica from Alembic called tonight. Mica, Susan, and Mary have treated me like family through this project.  I guess we all feel like family members when we're on the forum.

When I had the scare with my heart a while back, a little while after I got home the phone rang; Hi, Peter. This is Dave Houck - how are you?  Never spoken to the man before, but he found my number & called.  Now that's a classy moderator!  And while I in no way expected it, when I thought about it it wasn't a surprise, you know what I mean?  You da Man, Dave.

Despite the rude mod at another site, a sale was made and am awaiting the check. Now that the bass is sold I never have to go back there again. Yah!

I have to second Danno here.  I am on a few other forums as well, some music related and some not.

This forum by far is the best of the bunch in terms of both the members and moderators.

Agreed w/ all the above statements. There have been a couple of times that I've sparred w/ Dave over certain matters, but all in all this a great place to let one's opinions, thoughts, and experiences exist. Kudos to Dave, Art, Keith & Adrian...... did I get all the mods correct?!?!?
