I'm close to pulling the trigger on a TC Electronic RS212 cabinet to use on quieter gigs or gigs that involve stairs. Anyone have any experience with this cabinet?

Hi John,
I used to play a TC rig with my old band Martigan. a RH750 with a RS210 and aRS212. The sound is really fantastic, they are lightweight and easy to handle but the cabinet itself is deeper than the RS210. Two cons: the finish of the boxes is very sensitive towards scratches from normal handling and the boxes don' t have any rubber feet, means the cases are standing directly on the ground or on each other and could slip. I had secured the complete rig onstage with a small ratchet strap....

Hey John,
I currently use a RH750 2 x RS212 and a RS210. For 90% of my gigs I use the same as Oliver the 210 and 212. The 212 produces a full bottom end with clearly defined mids that cuts through the mix and tops that are not too hissy but articulate and clear. I am biased about TC gear and absolutely love the way the rig is designed as a package. Oliver is right about the finish although recently the finish formula has changed with the paint used a little more durable. I used small foam furniture pads between cabs to resolve the stacking slip issue and have had no problems so I don't need to tie the rig together.
I highly recommend the 212 and hope you enjoy it as much as I do. My series I sound killer through it. Being rear ported stage placement is critical.

Well, it's done. I just ordered the RS212 and a matching slipcover through Amazon. I'm looking forward to gigging with it. Thanks for the info and encouragement!

Pfffft. It showed up at 6:01 pm last night and by 6:15 pm I realized it shipped with a defective driver. Needless to say I'm not a happy camper. It's back in the box and being dropped off at UPS later today for a full refund from Amazon (who knew they sold bass cabinets?). I think my new plan is to call Sweetwater (they're just up the road a couple hundred miles) and ask them to unbox one and verify that it works then buy it from them for about $100 more than I paid for the cabinet from Amazon. I should have done that in the first place..

I had received my TC stuff back then from them directly as small endorsement and I now remember that also one of the speakers did make a hiss although brand new and needed to be replaced

If you are getting a buzzing noise tighten the screws for the rear ports

It wasn't that. The hf driver was loose on the back of the speaker, so I reached through a port and tightened it. That made it better but it still buzzed. The only way I could make it not buzz was to reach through a port and push very firmly on the rear of the hf driver. So essentially there was something additional loose inside that I would have needed to disassemble the unit to access, and thus void my warranty.. Playing phone-tag with Sweetwater all afternoon, but I should have another unit by the end of the week..

Used my new RS212 at the gig last night. I ran it on top of my Kustom 410H just because I'm paranoid that way. It sounds great and is plenty loud. Thanks for sharing the wisdom.

I'm having this buzz problem with my RS210, which until about two weeks ago, I totally loved. Now it's breaking my heart. Fortunately all my main gigs this summer have backline and I can use my single 12 for rehearsals, while I get the 210 repaired. I love the stuff when it is working!
