Thought I'd upload some pics of this rare bird from 1980.

Cool.  Is that one yours?  What is that button on the face of the instrument?

These are very rare.  I read there were four made or seven made.  I have one, as does another member of this forum.  Mine can be seen in some of the pics from the recent Northern California Gathering VI.  Each is a little different.  Mine has two pickups and active electronics.

Yes, it's mine, and for sale too! Just listed in the for sale section. I'm waiting on a response from Rick, but I think the button is to enhance resonance in some way, but not really sure.

The others I've seen of these, as well as Turner's Model 1, have a triangular cover that sits between the bridge and the end of the guitar.  You can see it in the pics from the NorCal VI gathering, and pics of Turner's Model 1 guitars.  The button is the bottom mounting screw for the cover.

The two guitars Bill is talking about from the 2013 gathering. Beautiful instruments.

Maybe a battery cover when needed and left off when not needed?

Great looking guitars. Is there anything unique about the pickups or electronics?
