Earthquake M 6.1 - 6km NW of American Canyon, California

Weathered it fine here - though the shaking was vigorous and extended. I was actually awake when it happened (I took an old lady nap in the afternoon!) so I got the whole ride.

Mica , That is good news . I was awake for the entire ride as well . The shaking seemed to last quite some time here  , perhaps approximately 20 seconds. (That would be about 40 miles from the epicenter.)  After the event I made my report of observations to The USGS as I usually do. Anyone can make a report there, It really helps them out.

I'm also VERY glad you're all ok out there!
I used to think I was indecisive, but now I'm not so sure.

Glad to hear there is safe reporting coming from our West Coast brethren. Somehow I knew at some point there would be some collective low B / E string repercussions built up that would need to be released.
Be safe out there,
Pete

At the UC Davis Campus in the 1970's I remember  visiting a laboratory  that was engaging in a geotectonic study of the effects of liquefaction during a seismic event. A  6 Hz waveform was used to replicate an earthquake and make  model buildings sink into the wet sand . The entire project had representations on the geological features of the grater San Francisco Bay Area.
