hot dog!!!! well all i ended up having to do was replace the battery terminal,no soldering at all, just a few twists of the connecter, bolt put it all back together,6 new strings later(ghs 11--50's)this old fiddle still has life in it.the ambelic boosts mabee 10+db's,i got to keep reminding myself that this switch is 1970's technology and not to expect too much.but so far --no nosie and no humming.thanks again fc-spoiler,i left the battery in under the pickgaurd for now,you can run it to the underside, but you would have to use only 2 springs out on the edge to get the battery to fit,or go to a hardtail bridge, right now im happy the thing still plays, its like having a new guitar.
