A use for old strings

Hi all,
OK, this isn't strictly an Alembic specific post, but I'm hoping it's of interest to bass players in particular and musicians in general.
I've recently set up a business called Bass Desires (
www.bassdesires.tictail.com
), which sells bracelets and pendants which I make from old bass strings. So if you'd be interested in some bass-specific fashion accessories, check it out! I ship worldwide, and can cater for custom designs if you have any ideas of your own.
For those of you who do facebook, I have a page here:
www.facebook.com/bassdesiresfashion
Thanks for your time!

What a great idea - they look good. Wish you well.
(Bet the thread develops into. flatwounds vs stainless vs nickel !!)
Just my sense of humour.
Good Luck.

I have used Bass Strings to hang Heavy Works of Art , such as large paintings , etc ... . An E or B string can really hold a heavy piece. G strings for the small ones .

I've used old bass strings to 're-hang' a muffler on my 93 YJ Jeep.

Guitar G strings (LOL) are used in our lab to slice soil samples like a cheese cutter. Our lab manager used to use piano wire but he says the guitar wire lasts at least 10x longer.
My son collects the ball end thingies and has them strung together. He has them attached to the end of one of his basses. I think that they would make cool dangling earrings.
Karl - your stuff looks really cool. You may use the earring idea
