This is a picture from the
build record for Adriaan's gorgeous 6-string Custom. [resized with a cheezy iPad app because I couldn't import the actual picture from that thread in glorious detail, for some reason. If a sympathetic mod could please accomplish this high-tech wizardy and delete this comment, I would appreciate it.]
I keep going to look at this picture every time I visit, for two reasons. Mainly it's the incredible craftsmanship. It's simply perfection. It doesn't matter where you look, even the parts nobody will ever see (hopefully ) my eyes dive into the whorls and whirlpools of that dark woodgrain and slide up the contrasting strips of the lams, like sliding across a freshly waxed floor on stockinged feet.
With the electronics out, we get a rare view of the extreme topography of the surfaces and cavities. Don't you feel fortunate? I know I do, as a fan of that sort of thing (I've seen thousands of guitars naked, but it never loses its appeal.)
Of equal importance is the photography. It's simply a stunning photograph. The lighting and angles highlight the beauty of the wood and superb workmanship equally, and that muted-yet-bright splash of purpleheart-and-ebony lams running through the center just takes my breath away.
(Good! I hear you say; that oughta shut him up!)
