East Nash Grass, from a festival last Summer.

The tune is from their first album, and I hadn't heard them do Ridin' The Lines since the old days at Dee's Country Cocktail Lounge.

It's A Beautiful Day, off their 2nd album.
(OK, show of hands:   How many thought they only had 1?  I thought it was 2, but they put out 4.  I think this calls for a deep dive in the very near future):

Very much so. Indeed this is about as excited as I have been about anything happening in mainstream bluegrass music since Hot Rize in the 80's or Lonesome River Band in the 90's.

I am a little disappointed to see Jeff Partin hasn't returned on bass this year though, and a rotating cast isn't always a great look for a band on the bubble. I thought Jeff was a perfect fit. That's just life in that world. Could be insufficient money, clashing personalities. Who knows. BTDT. Their tour schedule looks fine for this year, so there's that.

It's A Beautiful Day ... OK, show of hands:   How many thought they only had 1?

We had the first album (and by "we", I mean my friends and I at the time).  I don't recall any of the songs other than White Bird; and I don't recall if I knew that they had other albums.  My guess is that I didn't.

I just read their wikipedia page; and I can see where your thought of a "deep dive" would be warranted.

Oh, and according to Wikipedia, the song Don and Dewey "was, to all intents and purposes, identical to Deep Purple's "Wring That Neck"", which they did in retaliation for Deep Purple taking one of Beautiful Day's songs as an intro to a Deep Purple song.

Chicago Rhythm & Blues Kings; sax on the right is Gene "Daddy G" Barge (yeah, the guy name checked in "My Old School").  The other sax (Terry Ogolini) and the trumpet (Don Tenuto) were in Big Twist & The Mellow Fellows, my last full-time music employer:

Vinnie released the fifth installment of "Fifty Years From Home" yesterday. Or was it the day before? My days are a lot alike anymore.

In keeping with the pattern, there's one familiar track and 5-6 new ones that fit with it. In the case of this segment (called Lonely's What I Do) it's his hit from wayback, Pocket Full Of Gold.

Here's the title cut- [/size]

Wow!!  I kept trying to figure out what guitar that was, but he wasn't facing the camera.  Then I saw the comments, did a search, and yes; Garcia's Tiger.

Good to see and hear that. I read that guitar sold for several million bucks and wondered if it would see a stage again. Hopefully more, not just a last hurrah.

I read that guitar sold for several million bucks
$11.56M, to be exact.
Which is about $3M less than Gilmour's black Strat.
Now, I love Gilmour, and I love Strats - but that just ain't right!

Karlijn Langendijk - Sail

I really like her playing, and plan to purchase some of her music today.
