Oh, I know that Jazzyvee. I was just thinking back to the Exploiter/Distillate a while ago that went from being for sale on eBay to, I think, The Low End bass shop to some overseas buyer so it could hang on a wall. I don't care what country it ends up in as long as it gets some love.

I suppose, in one respect I hope it remains in the US. It will be a lot easier for KFS to get it back if it doesn't go too far away.

Nice bass, would be great to have a twin for my Series 1, but I'm saving to enlarge my house deposit for a few months. Bad timing as always

Which rough shaped graphite necked Alembic commanded a substantial sale price? Was it mine?

Yes, that was your bass, substantial being strictly my opinion.
For the record, and in case not everyone got the memo, the bass is no longer for sale as it appears that my moment of crisis has come and gone.
Should I need to sell it in the future, I've promised Eiji first dibs, but for now I've got the TI Flats back on the bass and I'm loving it to death.

OK, I thought it was pretty reasonable price all things considered and I've made a fantastic friend in the process.

The rough shape of it is superficial and could be easily sorted with a refin but I've decided to keep it original instead. It's had a hard life as a working bass and deserves some time being treated with respect and care.

I applaud your decision to keep your S2 graphite and didn't think your minimum asking price was unreasonable at all either. I think these instruments are in many ways the ultimate in collectable Alembics.

And a couple of other members know that I'll offer it back at same price if I decide to sell.

If you ever decide you want to get rid of a certain bass you have, I'll hold you to that. Or vintage amps, for that matter . . . .
