Thanks Mike! It was a real pleasure doing business with you. I now have some cool pics & recordings of that day.
Art, you're more than welcome to stop by to see this bass when you hit my neck of the woods soon. By the time you get here, I'll already have received my rare Sadowsky SA200, so we can A/B this and that in search of that elusive ultimate Alembic tone. The reputation of that SA200 has me up all night tonight!
http://bowlusblog.blogspot.com/2005/10/sadowsky-sa200-all-tube-head.html Without question, the marriage between my newly acquired BUTTERSCOTCH 76-534 and PJB SIX-PAK > 6T+9B cabs (3.4 ohms) stands heads & shoulders above anything I've ever experienced. I was so thrilled, that I was prompted to call Phil Jones yesterday morning informing him of this inspirational bass candy combination. I explained that when Mike Pace was here, we had encountered troubles with my one SIX-PAK amp. {I happen to own two of them, as they do a great job doubling as stereo amplification for my Korg OASYS 88 workstation.} Phil kindly educated me on how to quick-fix the intermittent cutting out; saving me hundreds. Phil Jones truly rocks!! The quality build of his amps and cabs rule from the highest mountain down to the alloys of the screws!
Mike, thanks SO MUCH for taking the time and trouble to personally deliver BUTTERSCOTCH 76-534! She truly exceeds all expectations, and so I feel quite fortunate to have been the person to take ownership of her. Here's a brief sample of what she sounds like recorded just after Mike took off for Philly:
