What being a member of the Alembic Club means to me...
« on: November 05, 2009, 07:23:09 PM »
Believe me when I say this...

I been a member since 2007, and I must say as a newbie, I love the Alembic Club.

Sometimes it get's rough, and spirits run high, but all in all, you guys here, are the best bunch of Smashers, I had ever logged a comment with...

I just wanted to say this because, I speak my mind on everything, and I am not holding back with this message either.

All you guys are special to me, and I am to be counted as Die-Hard Alembic Fan!

Peace, Love, and Alembics RULE!

Thanks Hal,
It's good to see musicians expressing themselves.
(...and woodworkers, electronics wizards,...)

Hal,

I have been watching the TomaHawk develop as an instrument with more than some interest.

Your passion is inspirational! I must say that you wear your heart on your sleeve,
and there is NOTHING wrong with that.

Never having to say you're sorry.

I have been fortunate enough to meet some wonderful people who demonstrate their trust and faith in extraordinary ways. Their candor, experience, generosity, care, concern, intelligence and humor have been shared with me in abundance. This is I believe a mirror of the folks that created this space for us. The Wickersham family and skilled artisans model the qualities I mentioned clearly and tangibly.Perhaps its only natural that those of a similar nature and spirit would be drawn to their creations and this space.

To all who have shared with me over he years, thank you for your faith, trust, support and advice. To those who I don't know on a deeper level yet, I hope to be around a good long time to swap ideas, stories, gear and perhaps sundries. I don't sell Amway yet but it may be a possibility. (actually I'd like to become an official Alembic dealer someday!)

Everyone here is helpful and one day soon I hope to get to meet a few of you over there in the USA.
Okay everyone gets a bit heated but who doesn't in conversation and it is all taken in good faith.
It's the only forum I have on my favourites as all the others are either to political or plain stupid.
To everone involved from contributors to moderators and Alembic..keep up the great work and atmosphere this place has.

Greetings! To me.. it means being part of a dream I've had since.. like.. 20 years ago? I finally got my very first Alembic, all of my own, after having played/tried/cried over some  I'm now the proud owner of a dreamy-sounding Epic 5, which shines over the rest of my 12-members bass family. He's a beast on its own, and definitely a beauty to play, to keep and take good care of.

Hope to share and learn new nice things as a new member of the Alembic family.

What it means to me. . .
The warmth of the members is gratifying.
The opportunity to go to a Gathering was out of this world! Meeting the faces that go with the names, playing the basses that went with the faces, jamming, the feeling of being in a family with a room (warehouse) full of 'strangers' is mind numbing in this day and age. Being surrounded by peers (other bassist) with no egos attached left me brilliantly satisfied.

Having guitarists who tolerated, even encouraged (you know who you are!) more bassist to cram the 'stage' leaves so many fond/ proud memories - I can't help but hope Bag End would be so gracious to open their doors to us in 2010.

I love being a Member!

To me it means a great place to virtually hang-out for a few minutes every now and then, of course a spectacular place to see photos of a few of the greatest instruments ever constructed, not to mention the smooth and effortless transactions that occasionally happen between club members, and a wealth of information available at my finger tips.

A big +1 on all the kind and warm folks I got to meet at the Chicago Gathering. For 7 years this place has been my favorite social space as well as an informational gold mine.
