This is the third fake I've seen for sale in Holland in only a few weeks time.

Not all fake Alembics feature a logo like this,so be careful if you see no logo at all!!

Hey Marc, Where did you find such nice pictures,did you play it, if so what did it sound like. It looks very well built for a fake. How much do they want for it. Thanks, Jim

It's a Fernandes copy of an Alembic. These have been discussed numerous times on this board. A search of Fernandes should quickly find the past discussions. While it is certainly a shamelss copy, in all fairness it is clearly labeled as a Fernandes. There is no attempt by the manufacturer to pass this off as a real Alembic. Under such circumstances, calling this a fake is a bit inaccurate, IMHO.

This one was for sale on a Dutch site I also saw a Stanley Clarke model there. I also found one in a shop it was very old and the electronics where a bit noisy it didn't have any logo on it. Sometimes these basses have white pickup covers.
I've seen a few for sale for 2000 EURO at guitar shows displayed as Alembics but they clearly weren't, all I'm trying to do is warn people who haven't seen or know about these basses. When they are sold as Alembic copys the will go for about 700 to 1000 EURO.
