Devon, This is how I bought my Series 1, albeit from a club member(so there was at least a fair amount of legitimacy).Ultimately you have to have a supreme amount of trust in the seller being that you are not buying from ebay (although their support can't keep you totally protected). You should pay with your credit card as it will offer you potection against fraudelent charges that your debit card won't. Get all of his personal info. that you can get (home and work address, home and work phone #'s) and if there is any reluctance that's an obvious sign something is up. Have him deliver it from a UPS store and have him call you from the stores phone not his cell and talk to the clerk to confirm it. This is a lot of hard earned money being spent and he/she should not have a problem with these terms especially if you are paying him exactly what he wants. Now I'm not saying this is a guarantee, but I feel that an owner of these instruments putting them up for sale should be for the most part, legitimate. Take care and I hope all works out well for you.
