Olie, I absolutely love your (Distillate 5?) with the Omega cut and humcancellor. The lines are so appealing. Just showing my appreciation of a unique piece of Alembic history and your collection.

Thanks Danno, that's my first Alembic it's actually a Mark King With Europa Electronics and a dummy humcancellor.
It's got a custom neck width on it too.

Hi Andrea and welcome.

The serial is most definitely fictitious:  I doubt if they're up to 17671 now; my Further, finished late 2005, is 13551 and I'm sure Alembic hasn't built over 4000 instruments since then.

We just had a serial number thread not too long ago and as I recall they are somewhere around 14.5K at the moment. The posted serial is a fake.

Keavin, each knob has a watch battry in it. The top (ebony part) screws off to replace the battery. Each has a small set screww on the side to trun them on and off.
These were the first set and as far as I know the only set made by THG.

OLIE'S BASS
Hello again, and thanks for your massive help!
Check out the seller's reply to my questions: Too late, it was picked up by the original buyer this afternoon. I had relisted it and thought I sold it...( to you) but he rang this morning....he saw the ad and must have spurred him on anyway I'm happy and so is he. I have sent you an Ebay notice to recind.
He's trying to find the easy way out.
I hope I can have MICA's word on this serial number, please!

Andrea, I'm glad you're not out any money. These scam guys are real bold. I'm surprised he/she emailed you back.
I'm pretty sure Mica will tell that they're not that high in serial#'s yet.

Andrea,
The serial number on the receipt is not valid. Alembic numbers every instrument sequentially and they build less than 1000 instruments per year. Currently 2007 instruments have serial numbers somewhere between 14,000 and 14,500. My 2005 Orion has a serial of 13514. It is there for impossible for a 1999 instrument to have a serial of 17671.

I can confirm that the serial number supplied by the seller is bogus. The attempted sale is certainly a scam.

Once again a ton of thanks to you all. I wonder what actions should I take within ebay, to avoid feedback retaliation....
