Still a bit high, but now it's at least in negotiating range.

Interestingly, as alike as they look, they don't appear to be matched; they don't look like they were made as twins.

I'm guessing Mahogany.

E-mailed and asked if he/she would be interested in selling the fretted version only, but got no response.  Just relisted on Craigslist L.A. with a price increase to $4,000.  There is, however, a best offer note. Anyone interested in the fretless version only?

I wrote to him yesterday and he said he would consider listing them separately - it is the fretless I'm interested in. Todd

If your serious about the fretless let's see if we can come up with a something that would interest him.

Thanks for the thought - not sure that could be done to my satisfaction in that if one of us is disappointed and want to return a bass, that could cause trouble.  If I offer on the fretless and you offer on the fretted as separate transactions, I don't see any trouble.

I'm going to make him a reasonable offer based on what I've seen spoliers going for around here and if he's interested make a trip out to CA possibly this weekend.  If I do go I'll also look over the fretless and post what I think of it.
