I am thinking I would like it best in 32 scale with frets. For fretless my muscle memory works better in 34 scale.

That would have been Tom's Custom Shorter Scale Bass. About the same size as a Further guitar . . .

I have to wonder if they're thinking having the Q switches off equals non-active? Cool bass, but I'm with sonicus on the scale length for fretless.

The original build had it fretted. I asked the seller about it, and he had Norrick Renson here in Los Angeles remove the frets, and install the white lines. A bass with an ultra short scale like that would be extremely difficult to intonate as a fretless. Totally unforgiving. The width of your finger would be wider than the fret span in the upper register.
