A 32 scale Persuader.I was very tempted by this but, although I'm sure the East preamp is very good indeed,it ain't a stock Alembic.

I will be looking for a medium scale in a couple of months, hopefully a Stanley Clarke Signature of similar vintage to my 20th Anniversary bass. This bass is a pretty keen price however and I thought it might be of interest.

I actually got John East, ( he's a really nice guy), to put two set of East ACG filters in my standard Europa bass a few years ago because they had the CVQ and I thought they would give me a poor man's Series II sound. I had low and high pass filters on each pickup. What I liked was the filter range was down to about 45hz so I could get a really good dub sound but I found the low mids were weak and so the bass didn't have the  low down punch to drive the sound that I was used to especially when playing reggae.

I've now restored my bass back to original alembic spec and put the filters a non alembic bolt on bass and it sounds fine in there. Still not punchy but then it's not a gigging bass.

If I was looking for a persuader I wouldn't be put off by the non alembic innards, I'd try to get a discount and put the saving towards some original electronics from Mica.

Great to have your input Jazzyvee as someone who has tried the East ACG filters. My heart is set on a Stanley Signature and I'm on course to be looking in the next 2-3 months but this bass would be a good buy for someone looking to get on the 'Alembic ladder' so to speak.

Agree with Jazzyvee 100%! The ACG EQ-02 Preamp has 1 bass CVQ and 1 treble CVQ, but they are shared by BOTH pickups. I have 2 Modulus basses, 1 with a ACG EQ-02 Preamp & EMGs and the other has an ACG EQ-01 Preamp with Barts. The ACG EQ-01 Preamp has a bass CVQ for each PU and a treble CVQ that is shared. The bass with the ACG EQ-01 & Barts comes closest to working/sounding like my Series.
