Most likely he used these to reverse engineer the electronic components...

That's: Two $3500 basses, one $4500 and one $1500 bass for only $23000 :-)

Yeah, I see it now.
Seams like he sells counterfeit as well as legit stuff.
At first I thought this was a scam in never seeing a collection sold all at once before. Then again?
Hate to see nice basses tarnished.
Peace,

It is surely  The Boogie Man .Of whom there have been many threads of mention about this eBay seller on this site.  As well as stepping on the nice toes of Alembic Inc, this person has made what I consider disparaging remarks on Ebay in the past toward paticipants of our Alembic Club Forum. It is my decision  not to do business with this seller as I have mentioned before. I apologize for this redundancy in stating my opinion, which I do with a big smile and without malice   !

I'll take a little different path... although I wouldn't personally do business with the Boogieman either, simply because I'm aware (by means of this Board) of his tactics, a vintage Alembic is still a vintage Alembic, and I hope these instruments end up in the hands of someone who appreciates them for what they are rather than a means for copying someone else's ingenuity. Bad ju-ju there, but maybe some good will come of it.

And yeah Wolf, look what he says in the description about time wasters and bloggers. Hey, I resemble that remark! =)

The remarks that this individual made this time are mild in my opinion compared to what was written in the past . A while ago the remarks were aimed at not only us   time wasters and bloggers  but at personnel of Alembic Inc as well . That was a while back.

He seems kinda' sour for sure.

On that note, I should issue an apology if (the first part of) my above post came off snooty or snarky, as I really didn't mean it that way, very much the opposite actually.

You know how sometimes stuffs sounds different when you read it back... what I meant was, I ended up here a couple years ago after a crooked ebay'r sold me a stripped-out bass. I'd dreamed of my own Alembic for 20-some-odd years and was thoroughly crushed.

Then Flip (fc_spoiler) sent me here from another forum, where I met you folks, and Mica and Co. that helped me fix it up like new. The rest is history yet to be written. There could be another happy ending here, was all I meant... mea culpa.

Hey, it's good to read club member feedback. It helps offer varying perspectives.

I'll bring this back to Flip's comments with which I wholeheartedly agree. Whatever these basses were used for, the seller is asking about twice the market value.

I hadn't seen that reply from Boggieman before. My opinion of him has now dropped even lower than it was before. Sad to see that collection of basses in his clutches. Hope they find their way to a good home!

It's interesting to note that after slamming what we all know are some of the finest instruments in the world in his earlier posting, and in this most recent one indicating that they are like wine vintages, he admits to owning over 30 Alembics over the years. That's a lot of product to purchase if you think what you are buying is of poor or questionable quality.

I would love to have that SII. It's pretty much what I'm looking for: medium scale, nice dark wood, omega cut.
