The place where I would go to is the Bass Connection in Hilversum, the Netherlands. Edwin, the owner, is also an Alembic addept, and he can tell (and sell) you all about Alembic preamps, filters and second-hand motorbikes ; )
No really, he is a very good guy to talk to. His number: 0031 - 35 628 19 04.
Succes,

Eugen,
to be honest: a F1-X is the most rare thing to find on this side of the pond. Really ... I can know!
I the end Brother Harold sold me his F1-X from the US (where they appaer more frequently (although...)), the 110v/220v switch was extremely easy to make even for a non-tech-dude as I am.

Paul, what does BONNIE sound like with the Glockenlang 4x10 (top) 1x15 (bottom) setup. I read in your post that you used EDEN before the Glocks. What exactly didn't you like about the EDEN, and were they the same setup? (4x10 & 1x15)

Hi Brian,

nice to hear from you!
You inspird me in assembling my rig and I'm getting close now: only the rack-light/power distributor is missing and will -alas- not be installed before november. For that reason the SF-2, tuner and Lexicon are not installed yet.
About the Glocks.
My first speakers were a 2x10 w/horn Alumabass (Bullfrog) and a Mesaboogie 15. Unfortunately there was a OHM-difference between those 2 so I sold them.
With Edwin (EVH) I did an A/B/C check on different speakers. I checked 4x10 inches with horn from Eden, SWR, Epifani and Glockenklang with the same amp. On that moment all US material was extremely expensive due to exchange rates.
On sound I found -it's purely personal- that SWR and Eden had a very nosy / nasal sound. That makes sense because those sound-colour makes the bass very penetrating through a wall of guitars f.i. That results in SWR and Eden as being very economical on transmitting power into loud sounding.
Although the sound IS coloured (the Eden in my opinion more than the SWR).
Epifani and Glockenklang were clean. It's not a nice word. They were like blanco pages. They sound neutral.
Epifani was a lot more expensive than Glockenklang.
So ...
I didn't try Acme's or Ampeg or EA or ... whatsoever ... .
I remember Brother Mikey (Michael Paskel) who tried the Glockenklangs at the New-York dealer.
He was knocked out ...alas also by the price you got to pay in the US.
Conclusion: Bonnie sounded extremely clear.

Hey Paul,

I noticed you missed the Bonnie Raitt concert. Have a close look at www.omroep.nl/nps/jazz every month. It is possible that they are going to broadcast the Bonnie Raitt North Sea Jazz festival 2003 this year. If you are not able to watch it or to tape it, let me know and I'll tape it for you. ok? Just drop me a line.

News from this side of the pond.
- We're playing with Drive september 27 in The Stapleton Irish pub in the Standonckstraat in Leuven at 22:30h.
- Blue Stuff is playing  the kroegentocht of Tervuren on november 22. We play in Caf? NARIXA in the Hoornzeelstraat. Normally from 10:00 to 02:00 (augh).

Bonnie will be in good companion because it will be the first time with the new rig including a F1-X with SF-2. Pictures on the way!.

great pictures Paul.  Alembics are always so distinguishable anymore.  Even though you have so many options to make them custom, you can always tell when you see one.

Thanks brothers!
Mattheus ...yeah ..sort of.
I hope I'll manage to go to the photo-store so I can get the others developed.

You know ...I'm getting a bit nervous for tomorrow. But ...that's a good thing. Well ...as long that it doens't paralise me.

Hello Brothers and sisters,  here some "atmosphere" pictures of the Drive concert  last Saturday. Where were you?

Paul the bad one  PS: with the "new" rig which is described in  the appropriate department of this joyful club

PS2: remark the completely normal reaction of a guitarplayer on a snooping camera!!!
