Alembic and the Component Amp System
« on: December 21, 2011, 04:07:31 AM »
Taken from an eBay auction ...

So this is Yamaha proposing a package deal on Alembic, Moog, Bag End and Furman produce ...

Series I guitar, F2-B pre-amp, Furman Sound RV1, a set of Moog processors (couldn't unscramble the printed names), a Yamaha P2200 power amp and a couple of Bag End speakers.

Here's my question: could we recreate the Component Amp System from our members' collections?

They can keep the Moog gear, but I could be be very happy with an f2b, the wonderful P2200 Yamaha power amp (just let me find a mint one on EBay one day . . . ), and some BagEnd bass bins !

Hi Peter !
The P2200 model was Yamaha entrance unit into pro audio amplification and these units as you know are very well made. One of my favorite features is the Convection cooling (no fan ) With an honest 230 watts RMS @ 8 ohms per channel they can bark quite well  !  However the only thing that I don't like about them is the way that you have to run them in bridge mode with the transformer.  Other then that they have been my favorite amplifiers for decades . For a while I would grab them when they showed up. All the loose one are now safe from my scan net ! Grab one at a good price .   LOL !!!
