I'll be playing about 1/4 of the show with my Starfire (it's a good break from all the Fenders and Moduli the other guys play). It's always a great time and we've moved from the Ogden to the Fillmore this year. The preceding Friday we'll be at the Boulder Theater.

It's a benefit for the Denver Rescue Mission and our efforts every year make us the second highest donor that they have. If you live in the Front Range, I highly recommend checking out one of the shows.

Hate picking favorites with The Last Waltz, or The Band in general, but Ophelia did it for me... it's still one of my warm-up-in-key-of-C routines.

Standouts for me included Rick Danko singing It Makes No Difference and Muddy Waters' jowls shaking as he proclaimed I'm a Man.

While I always loved TLW, it'll never be the same after reading Levon's autobiography.
But I have never, ever, failed to have goose bumps the whole time Mavis is singing on The Weight, & I doubt I ever will!

Peter, I have the same mixed emotions about TLW and Robbie Robertson. Levon's book, This Wheels on Fire, is a great read - VERY well written for a rock autobiography. It and Phil Lesh's Searching for the Sound are my two all time favorite books in this genre. The way Robbie and Scorsese treated Muddy Waters and the other Band members to make room for the diabetes-inducing Neil Diamond was unforgivable. (To me, Neil Diamond always sounds like he has to go to the bathroom really badly. He's so URGENT!)

Peter and Bill, which edition of Wheel's on Fire do you have? I'm thinking of picking up a used copy of the 2000 edition; but I'm wondering how much was added in the 2013 edition.

I'm not sure. I believe my paperback copy is still in a box somewhere, (we moved in August), but I know it's not a 2013 edition since I read it a few years ago. Now I'll have to go check out if there is new stuff in the new edition.

I read a library copy; don't know which edition.
I do own Phil's, and am just finishing my second (or is it third?) reading; we are in complete agreement on those 2 books, Bill.
