New to the club

Hello all,  I just acquired an Epic 5 last week and found this forum while searching around for more info. The SN is 97W10946. I'm not sure what all the specs are for it, hopefully the mods could help me out with that. Here are a few pictures:

Hi Dave, love those Epics!  Mine is a 4string made in 1994.  Not as versatile tone wise as some of the higher end Alembics but the combination of size, tone, & playablility come together just right.

WAY cool, Dave! I'd be interested to hear what woods are on it. The body top looks like Bubinga but I wonder what's on the headstock. It's so shimmery I might guess burl redwood, but I could be wrong.

Great looking bass.  I like the sampler views in your pictures - artistic.  But I wish I could see the whole package put together.

good to have you in the most low frequencied heaven on earth (That 's nonsense but it sounds good ...ha!).
REALLY nice bass and that wood ...Redwood I should say and those swirls on the top are really examples of mother nature artistic skills.
 
But ...explain me ...picture 2 is a little weird ...do I see a powercord going to your Epic ?? Or do you use your entire house as an amp (Brother David the loud one will LOVE this) LOL!!!

I'll check the file on this instrument tomorrow, when I'm at work;
as Eff Clef pointed out that sure looks like bubinga, with maple veneer, mahogany body, maple neck w/walnut pinstripes Epic electronics, brass hardware, ebony fretboard & bronze logo.

Paul TBO, that cord is going to a lamp. I wish I had an amp as big as my house. I use something slightly smaller, a Hartke HA7000 through a Hartke 4.5 XL cabinet.

as it turns out all the details of my previous post were correct;
I can add that it has plastic backplates, gold Alembic gotoh tuners, gold strap pins and was completed 8-12-97 and sold through  Mars Music with a gig bag.

it turns out that you have the five string version of my epic four string Jazzmine i have bubinga on mine as well and mine too was made in 1997. your bass is very nice i think the bubinga is one of the bast looking woods especially for the Epic basses although i am a huge fan of Sams Zebrawood
