Hey everybody,  I'm new to the club. Join last week. I present you my Elan 5.   Elan 5 strings, narrow neck.  I bought it new in 1989 at Steve's; in toronto. I'm the original and only owner.   Serial num: 88H5062 date: 9-9-88  - Two-tone burl walnut top  - Maple body  - Neck fully laminated purple heart, maple.  - Chrome GOTOH tuners  - Brass bridge and bird tailpiece  - P and J pick ups. 3 knobs 1 q switch.   Followed me on the road for 15 years, never failed me. Solid and fast, infinit sustain. No slapping & poppin on that thing though. D-E-A-D-G. Killer-D. I'm ''still'' running it through a Yamaha PB-1 with a bryston amp and a hartke 4X10. (if it works, don't try to fix it)   Michel,  Montreal, Canada.

Beautiful Elan, Michel!  The burl is gorgeous, and, while I definitely love the accent lams in most Alembics, the look of Elan models such as yours, with the top wood just sitting on the body -has it's own minimalistic beauty.

It's awesome, and it's nice to see someone who's still happily married to their first Alembic!

Thanks for sharing the pictures!

Check this out, I include here a picture of her sister, ex-holder: the mule (wilfred).
Her serial num:88H4912, mine is 88H5062.
I sure wish I had that 4 strings to keep company to my 5!
