Hiya Charles - thanks. The ONLY issue I have with this bass (and I'm sure it's no surprise) is that, since I'm not Mark King, this body style doesn't balance very well for me. I can make do with a 4 strap for one gig - 2 in a row and my back is really letting me know. It's very substantial - a whole lotta wood for a little body, and trying to keep it in a more traditional position takes real effort. Extra Omega cuts were out of my reach($$)when I got it so it is what it is. I sure do love the neck and how it sounds though.
My main rig for several years has been an Ashdown RPM-1 pre (John Entwistle Signature model though I'm sure I don't know what the difference is between it and the standard one) driving a QSC PLX2402 and a 4 ohm Aguilar 212 cabinet. When I don't feel like lugging the QSC to a smaller venue I use an old GK800RB (80's vintage). The MK loves them both! I've been thinking of getting an F-1X to check out, but recent circumstances have conspired against me. One day....
