New, so, hello to all

I'm a long-time player and just recently ordered an Alembic bass (MK Balance K Deluxe 5 string dressed in Coco Bolo).  I love all my basses but needed to finally own an Alembic.  Now, I need to start dressing like Jimmie Johnson!

Welcome to the forum  you have made a great choice. Of bass for your first ALEMBIC.  If  you want to share your build progress with us.  You can request a factory to customer  thread to be started on here and get pictures posted and info on the thread by mica of the stages of your bass build.

Thanks, Jazzyvee.
Susan/Mica sent me a pic of the coco bolo wood blank chosen through my email.  The bass, I've been told, should be born sometime in November. It would be cool to start that thread you speak about.  I'll navigate around here for that purpose.
Thanks, again

Wick, the Factory To Customer threads can only be started by Mica. Tell her you want to have a FTC thread for your build & once she starts it you & everyone else will be able to comment on the progress of your build. I'm having a custom 5 string Series II Europa built now, you can see it under Rusty's Custom 5 string in the FTC area. I think it's the 2nd thread from the top. This is my first custom build & the advice I will give to you is be patient! Things will not progress as fast as you want them to, but in the end it will be well worth the wait! The fine folks at Alembic are perfectionists & they will not turn out any instrument that is not absolutely amazing! Read through several of the previous build threads to get an idea of the process & how long it takes so you will be prepared for the journey. Congratulations on your 1st Alembic & welcome to the Club!

Welcome wick5... I have a standing gig down your way every January. NMB is a nice town *especially* in January. Congrats on your order; We have very similar taste in basses it seems, however, I recommend you check with JJ on the wardrobe! He's pretty regular here too.

Thanks for the warm welcomes. The decision on my last (hopefully) bass came down to Ken Smith and of course Alembic. I feel like a kid again waiting on Christmas!  Another minor thought...I can now wear my shades on dark stages with the cool blue LED neck lighting!  And NO belt buckles!!  If factory to customer becomes available, I will share photos. Rustyg61's bass is something to behold..
