New to the Club
« on: December 03, 2014, 09:39:15 AM »
I have been an Alembic owner since the early 90s, but just discovered the Alembic Club. My first was a Medium Scale Series 1 Small Body Guitar (77-897), followed up by a 1986 Persuader Bass. Pictures will be forthcoming, as soon as I can figure the proper lighting to show them off. Although primarily a bassist, I love that guitar. I own other basses and guitars, but Alembics are in a class by themselves!

Oh yeah, I'm in Northeast Ohio.

Recently sold my Persuader and my small body 6 string to exercise my second amendment right. Hoping to still be welcome.

Welcome, Jim.

Good to have another guit-bassist aboard!

Although all of my current Alembics are basses, I do have a Further guitar under construction.

This club is a great resource. If you have the time, look though the archives - there's all kinds of useful tips and info there.

Thank you, quilt.

Since I became a member, I have been reading through many of the posts. I have already learned much. Members are extremely cordial to each other and love pictures of the instruments. I'll admit that's a high point for me, as well.

Welcome to the camp James!
Pictures are always appreciated.
Although the amazingly beautifully crafted tops of Alembic's with hardware and control layouts meticulously positioned is a sight to behold, please do not neglect a picture of the backside.

For some, the simple profile of a 'plain, unadorned' Alembic from the rear truly shows the elegance of the foundation of which the magic of Alembic is birthed to.

Welcome Jim.

You don't need to be too particular about the photo quality. Many of us here are far from what you would call professional photographers. I've found the best pictures seem come from using natural light outside but I'm not sure I would want to do that in Northeast Ohio this time of year.

That's a good one, Keith!

I agree with you, and that is my quandary. I have an idea of how to proceed, but I will need a sunny weekend day to pull it off.

Hoping for Saturday.

Thanks for the welcome, Jazzy and Paul.

I am planning for the customary front and back shots of both instruments.

All the best,

Jim
