Gil Scott Heron's bass player
« on: May 28, 2011, 09:13:41 AM »
Having heard that Gil had passed away, I went to  one of my favourite GSH tracks 'B Movie'
and discovered some great footage of a series 1 or 2 in action.  Does anyone know who the bass player is?

Thanks for that, and embarrassing to see he's based in the UK (where I am) and with name checks to lots of bands that I listen to.

Respect to the encyclopaedic knowledge of the Alembic club membership!

Although it isn't an Alembic, you should check this out for great fretless work (the solo kicks in from about minute 7):

This is what got me into being a professional musician. Speaking truth to power with a groove that doesn't quit.
